Account opening, closing, or management

My chase checking & savings accounts was closing. When inquired I was never given correct information why the account was close. Even the phone operator hesitated to give then ID & name saying as for the policy. My account was closed with a positive balance which they sent me a cashiers check.
Now I have a past due balance notice and when inquired what the past due is, they are failing to provide any kind of bill other than the bank statements that I already have.

I am worried that they will send this to collection and destroy my credit.
