Top 10 Best Motorcycle Boots In 2023 Reviews

1 Durango Men’s 11inch Harness Boot

Durango makes the first motorbike boots on our list. The Harness Boot looks like a traditional riding boot. These will look equally good on a Harley, or a horse. Designed for those looking for a sleek and comfortable boot with an American cowboy feel.

Made from 100% leather…

These boots not only look superb, but they are also built to last. They have a rubber sole, while the top is constructed from 100% leather. We think you both look good and enjoy the comfort when wearing these motorcycle boots.

How much coverage do they offer?

The shaft measures 11.5 inches from the arch up. That’s a nice tall boot. This will help keep any sand or dust you might encounter from entering the boot.

Are they easy to get on and off?

The 14.5-inch diameter boot opening will help you slip right into, and out of these boots. Plus, there are harness ankle straps, and dual pull handles. What more can you ask for?

They are also available in multiple colors, so there’s a pair for everyone.

Durango Men's 11inch Harness Boot
Our rating:4.4 out of 5 stars (4.4 / 5)

Pros

  • Oil and slip resistant.
  • Available in multiple colors.
  • Tall 11.5-inch shaft.

Cons

  • The leather could be a bit thicker and more durable.

2 Bates Men’s 8inch Tactical Sport Side Zip Military Boot

If you’re a fan of the tall boot shaft, but would rather be able to cinch them up tight, then check out this listing. These tactical military style boots are produced by Bates. We think these boots would be great for anyone looking for a boot to wear all day.

Easy on/off military style boots.

These may look like the real deal, but they aren’t quite genuine military boots, which is great actually. Especially for those that want to be able to slip into the boots without too much fuss. These boots were designed with a side zip. It’s a nice feature to have, though we aren’t sure we’d still call these tactical boots.

Are they comfortable?

These are easily some of the most comfortable motorcycle boots we reviewed. This is in no doubt due in part to the rubber sole, lightweight cushioned EVA midsole, and removable insert. Your feet will feel fresh all day.

What about the traction the Bates military boots offer?

The rubber sole provides great traction. The boots are slip and oil resistant, so you won’t lose your footing easily. The shell of the boot is constructed from 70% leather and 30% nylon.

Bates Men's 8inch Tactical Sport Side Zip Military Boot
Our rating:4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Pros

  • Oil and slip resistant.
  • Side zip for easy doffing and donning.
  • Tall 8 inch shaft.
  • Available in black and coyote brown.

Cons

  • Not the most arch support for those who need it.

3 Bruno Marc Men’s Military Motorcycle Combat Boots

The next entry on our list of the best boots for motorcycle riding is also one of the least expensive. These boots from Bruno Marc are less than half the cost of most motorcycle boots reviewed here. Even better, they’re about a fifth the price of the last entry on our list…

These boots look good with their classic vintage design…

They are also available in a lot of colors. Seriously, there are so many options you’ll have trouble picking just one. Luckily, at this price point, you might not have to.

They have a 1-inch heel, making them perfect for days out riding. These are a faux leather ankle boot. That means they don’t offer the added protection the above boots provide with their taller shafts.

But can you get a quality boot for such a low price?

Quality might not be the best word to use when describing these ‘combat boots.’ We found the soles did wear out a bit quicker than we expected. Equally, the side zipper is known to fail.

Still, they are a cool looking boot. They make a great boot for those on a budget, or anyone who doesn’t need a boot for daily wear.

Bruno Marc Men's Military Motorcycle Combat Boots
Our rating:4.2 out of 5 stars (4.2 / 5)

Pros

  • Cool looking vintage military boots.
  • Side zipper to help you get out the door quicker.
  • Lots of colors/shades to choose from.
  • The least expensive motorcycle boots on our list.

Cons

  • The quality of materials used could use a solid upgrade.
  • The construction and quality control are lacking compared to other options reviewed.

4 Skechers Men’s Pilot Utility Boot

The next boot we reviewed was the Skechers Pilot Utility Boot. These boots are not as cheap as the pair just above, but they are still very affordable. Being from the Skechers brand, these boots are made to look tough but are still soft on the feet.

These are ankle-high utility boots…

They come with a six-eye lacing system to help you get the right fit. You don’t want to be slipping around in your boots when changing gears after all. Plus, the collar is padded for comfort.

Ride all day in comfort…

The lightly padded footbed helps keep you moving when you’re on your feet. At the same time, the thick lug traction soles keep you upright no matter what the walking surface is like. They even have a 1.25-inch heel.

We like these boots for the casual riders out there. The quality control could be a touch better with numerous reports of splitting seams. Just the same, we didn’t experience any issue, and they do have the Sketcher’s comfort.

Skechers Men's Pilot Utility Boot
Our rating:4.3 out of 5 stars (4.3 / 5)

Pros

  • Padded footbed and collar for comfort.
  • Thick lug traction for stability on slippery surfaces.
  • Heel measures over 1 inch.
  • Available in black and brown.

Cons

  • Not built for regular tough wear and tear.

5 Smith & Wesson Men’s Breach 2.0 Tactical Side Zip Boots

Smith & Wesson is known for quality. Their attention to detail has helped make the brand a popular choice for those looking for a tactical style boot. The Breach 2.0 is just such an animal.

These are good motorcycle riding boots at a reasonable price…

They are constructed from leather and nylon. This provides protection without limiting your comfort. There is also a gusseted tongue to minimize dirt and other debris that can cause blisters and general discomfort.

Are they comfortable?

The EVA midsole provides a lightweight option with cradled support. To keep the boot rigid, Smith & Wesson utilizes a steel shank. You’ll notice the torsional rigidity as it helps your feet feel fresh during those long work days.

Grip that won’t slip…

One thing about these biker boots that we liked the most was their traction. The rubber outsole employee an innovative pattern. Engineered to grip well in any environment, these boots are great on dirt, waxed surfaces, fences, ladders, or anywhere else you might go.

For the cost, they make good boots for motorcycle riding…

The only thing we weren’t big on was the stitching. These don’t appear to be up to the normal standard of most Smith & Wesson tactical boots. They didn’t split on us, but we’ve heard a few reports of as much.

Smith & Wesson Men's Breach 2.0 Tactical Side Zip Boots
Our rating:4.4 out of 5 stars (4.4 / 5)

Pros

  • YKK side zipper for easy access.
  • Tall shaft for additional protection.
  • Steel shank for added support.
  • Not the best quality construction, with the stitching known to be a possible issue.

Cons

  • None

6 Harley-Davidson Men’s Scout Motorcycle Harness Boot

Let’s be honest here. If you are looking for motorcycle boots, you’re going to love this next option on our list of the best motorcycle boots for men. Unlike some above items we reviewed, these were purposefully designed for riding.

Harley-Davidson makes some of the best motorcycles and high-quality biker gear as well.

The Scout Motorcycle Harness Boot is made from 100% leather. Just what you would expect from Harley-Davidson. This leather comes up to the lower mid-shin, with the 7-inch shaft (measured from the arch).

Instep zippers make life so much easier…

These boots won’t be difficult to slip on thanks to the side zipper. They also won’t let you down like some cheaper options out there. They come equipped with a three-strap harness that has a metallic hardware ring for durability.

We aren’t huge fans of the inside of these boots. They aren’t that well padded, and some people experience a rub on the shin when walking. But as with all boots, it’s down to each pair of feet…

Harley-Davidson Men's Scout Motorcycle Harness Boot
Our rating:4.4 out of 5 stars (4.4 / 5)

Pros

  • Oil, slip, and abrasion resistant rubber soles.
  • Tall shaft for added protection.
  • Side YKK zipper makes putting them on and taking them off a breeze.
  • Made by the almighty Harley-Davidson.

Cons

  • The fit won’t be great for everyone.

7 O’neal Men’s New Logo Rider Boot

Finally, our list of the best motorcycle riding boots gets to a pair that will look good on those riding a crotch rocket. Yes, if you have a sports bike, these might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. They look pretty damn cool if we may say so…

True protection for your feet…

These boots have injection molded plastic plates that protect against impacts in case things go wrong. There is also a metal shank insert that reinforces the shape of the boot. We found this all rather comforting, especially considering some pictures we’ve seen of people having wiped out with inadequate footwear.

Don’t lose your foot in a crash; buy proper motorcycle footwear…

The air mesh interior helps keep your feet from getting too hot. There is generous heel support, as well as a cushioned insole. You’ll be the most comfortable when riding, but these boots won’t cause you any discomfort if you need to walk somewhere either.

How about the closure system?

These O’Neal boots have an easy, snap-lock system. There are four buckle closures that you’ll easily be able to snap into place. Very quick and easy, and certainly a feature of motorcycle boots we prefer. They also have a synthetic leather heat shield to minimize damage from a hot engine.

These boots do have a rigidity that many will need to adjust to. It’s not a bad thing in our book, as it’s linked to the protection they offer. What we did not like is the lack of a solid waterproofing.

O'neal Men's New Logo Rider Boot
Our rating:4.4 out of 5 stars (4.4 / 5)

Pros

  • Metal toe guard and heat shield for ultimate protection.
  • Easy to use snap-lock buckle closure system.
  • Metal shank and plastic plates for rigidity.
  • Cushioned insole and air mesh interior for comfort.

Cons

  • Not waterproof as you’d expect in this style of motocross boots.

8 Adtec Men’s 11Inch Harness Motorcycle Boot

If you were paying attention at the very beginning of our list of reviews, these might look confusingly familiar. But fear not, this is actually a completely different boot from a different boot maker. This time around, we are looking at the Harness Motorcycle Boot from AdTec.

A classic look for those with style…

These boots are pull on biker boots through and through. They look good in their black 100% leather and are rather comfortable as well. We think these will be a big hit with a number of riders out there.

Look clean, mean, and ready to ride…

The shaft rises 11.75 inches from the arch, so they certainly sit high enough to keep out most debris. They also have a solid inch and half heel, so you won’t be slipping around looking for the gears.

Construction you can count on…

These boots have a Goodyear welt construction, which will keep them in good condition for longer. These are great boots for those looking for a long-term use option.

Adtec Men's 11Inch Harness Motorcycle Boot
Our rating:5 out of 5 stars (5 / 5)

Pros

  • Durable Goodyear welt construction will help them last longer.
  • Tall 11.75 inch shaft.
  • Classic, tough-biker look and feel.
  • Oil and slip resistant sole.

Cons

  • Try before you buy as the sizing is occasionally off with these boots.

9 Forma Unisex-Adult Adventure Low Boots

The penultimate pair on our motorcycle boot reviews is produced by Forma. These boots offer a very different look when compared to all others on our list. We expect that some riders are going to absolutely love the look of these.

A modern design with a vintage finish…

These boots are constructed from full-grain oiled leather that has a vintage finish for that badass look. The DRYTEX liner is both breathable and waterproof. This alone makes these some of the best motorcycle boots available.

Built light to keep you on the move…

These Adventure boots feature double density anti-slip rubber soles. There a gear pad protection provided by a plastic pad. You then cinch them down with double adjustable Velcro closures that snap closed with unbreakable GH plastic buckles.

Need lots of protection just in case?

Forma has you covered. These motorcycle boots have a TPU internal molded plastic ankle protection. There’s also extra soft polymer padding complete with memory foam for ultimate comfort.

These boots might be one of the most expensive options on our list, but they are worth it…

The replaceable footbed is anti-bacterial. This will help cut down on unwanted foot odor. Additionally, all seams are thermos-welded for a stronger, more durable bond.

Forma Unisex-Adult Adventure Low Boots
Our rating:4.9 out of 5 stars (4.9 / 5)

Pros

  • Waterproof and breathable DryTex liner.
  • Gear pad plates offer increased durability with regular riding.
  • Comfortable memory foam padding.
  • Highly protective footwear designed for motorcycle riders.

Cons

  • Considerably more expensive than most options we’ve reviewed.

10 Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Motorcycle Boots

The Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Motorcycle Boot combines motocross level protection with all day comfort both on or off the bike. We think this will be another favorite among readers, though the price will be a bit high for some riders.

We’ve all heard of Gore-Tex…

Gore-Tex makes one of the best waterproof membranes on the market. This is in part due to the unrivaled breathability of the material. This is just what you need for a boot that will need to offer comfort in any weather.

The boots are waterproof, and still manage to keep your feet cool in warm weather…

We also really like the Achilles tendon protection offered by the tongue and groove rear of the calf panels. The bonded non-slip lug style sole provides traction that won’t easily separate from the boot. We really like these features, as they meet our safety and durability requirements.

How do they tighten up?

These boots use a micro adjustable cam lock buckle system. This comes with memory retention straps for easily getting the same fit each time you put them on. Plus, the buckle system is easily replaceable. This is really smart as you’ll be able to keep these boots in good use for a longer duration.

Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Motorcycle Boots
Our rating:5 out of 5 stars (5 / 5)

Pros

  • Gore-Tex waterproofing and breathability.
  • Achilles tendon protection.
  • Bonded non-slip soles.
  • Micro adjustable cam lock buckle system.

Cons

  • The most expensive option on our list of the best motorcycle boots.

Best Motorcycle Boot Buyer’s Guide

As you have seen in our list of the best motorcycle boot reviews, there are a lot of different styles available. Some riders may be inclined towards one style over others, but how do you determine which are the best option for you?

Fear Not, We Are About To Break Down Various Features, And Help You Prioritize…

The first thing to consider is the type of riding you’ll be doing in these new motorcycle boots you’re shopping for. If you like the long haul rides with minimal interruptions, then you’re going to want something specifically designed for motorcycle touring.

For those looking to be able to wear the boots around town, we would recommend the harness or military style boots. They tend to be much more comfortable on the feet when walking or standing.

Off-Road, Dirt Bike, And Trail Riders Should Seek Out Boots Designed To Be Tough.

You’ll need more protection both from wrecks and from flying debris if you plan to run some dirt trails. Luckily, there are a few pairs of heavy-duty boots on our list that are custom designed for these activities.

Don’t Forget To Factor In The Weather…

The above boots offer a wide range of protection from the weather. With some, there is really very little to say. However, waterproofing and high shafts provide the ultimate defense against the elements. There are even some motorcycle boots with fur lining for those cold days.

How Much Protection Do You Need?

Some boots on our list are pretty much just normal boots. There’s nothing special about them to make them motorcycle boots per se. Others have all kinds of protections built.

We Would Recommend Top-Notch Protection, Because You Never Know…

Still, if you are simply taking a short ride on a quiet road to work, it may be best to choose a boot you can wear in comfort all day. That would certainly eliminate the most protective motorcycle boots from your options, but that’s not a bad thing.

Motorcycle boots like the Sidi ones reviewed above offer the best protection. However, you obviously won’t want to wear these all day long at work.

Do You Prefer Slip-On, Or Something With A More Snug Fit?

There’s plenty of riders that would be very happy with a classic, cowboy boot-like style. Others will be after a pair of boots that bit snug and offer ultimate precision. It’s more down to your own style, and how much comfort you want to exchange for protection.

Grip Is Important On And Off The Road…

You don’t want to fall flat on your face due to a small pool of oil in your path to the bar. You also don’t want to be slipping around the gears or rear brake. Make sure that whichever boots you pick, that the sole offers adequate traction. Heels are best for riding bikes, and toe slots for the gear lever are nice as well.

There is a lot of variety on the market today. Some boots may offer everything you’re looking for, and others may be the best compromise among the list of top features. Whichever way you go, the best motorcycle boots are the ones you’ll wear every time you ride.

There’s No Point In Paying For Protection And Then Leaving It At Home.
