On Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX, I listened to XXXX messages from XXXX ( a woman ‘s voice ) and XXXX ( a man ‘s voice ) with the exact message. ” You have an important message from Credit Service Company. This is a call from a debt collector. ” When I called the first number, I was told my call was being recorded and then when I asked who they represented, they asked for my personal information. I informed the woman I was tape recording the call, she hung up. I called the second number and heard a recording that my call was being tape recorded, a man came on and I asked to speak to a manager. The man said, ” You are in no position to ask to speak to a manager! ” I then told him, I was taping the call. The man stated, ” That was impossible! ” When I said I was holding my cell phone to the receiver, he hung up!
I looked on line for the company called Credit Service and called the number listed. The number has been disconnected. ( XXXX ) To my knowledge I have no outstanding debts and my credit is excellent. How do I find out in a safe manner if I do have an outstanding debt? Giving my SSN etc. to anyone especially on the phone etc. is not anything I am willing to do!
Thanks
